Summary

DBI (Doing Business in Israel) programme Day 6 and 7, 20th and 21st Dec.2019 were Friday and Saturday, it was weekend and there was no activities for the programme, so we were free to arrange it by ourselves. On Day 6, Friday, we went to Caesarea, Haifa & Akko Day Trip from Tel Aviv. And on Saturday, we went to the trip of Masada and Dead Sea.

Caesarea, Haifa & Akko Day Trip from Tel Aviv

We booked the trip online for Caesarea, Haifa & Akko Day Trip from Tel Aviv for the day 6, 20th Dec. 2019, the cost was around 379 NIS. I paid online by credit card, the actual bill of Singapore dollar was around: S$153. In the morning, the tour bus came to hotel and picked up the guests who registered online.

The bus headed to north of Israel, the first stop was Caesarea, we went to the Caesarea’s national park – The Roman Theater. The second stop was Haifa, and enjoyed a great view to the Baháʼí gardens on the top of the Haifa. The 3rd stop was to the border of Israel and Lebanon, and visited Rosh HaNikra grottoes, we took the cable car down to get near to the grottoes and went inside, then took the cable car back to the top.

The last stop was Acre. had lunch there, as it was not included in the trip, cost us 50 NIS each. We visited the Citadel of Acre.

Masada and Dead Sea Day trip

On day 7, 21st Dec. 2019, we had a day trip to Masada and Dead Sea. We took the cable car to the top of the Masada, then took the cable car back, some of our group members decided not to take the cable car, but to walk down to the bottom, it took them almost 30 minutes to walk down, they call the path the snake path. We learned about the Masada history, how Jewish rebels defended the fortress and finally all the rebels committed suicide after months of siege. On top of the Masada fortress, we walked around and viewed the remains of the palaces, the bath house for Roman style public bath, cistern to reserve rain water etc.

The Dead Sea was a magic trip, totally new experience. We arrived at a resort hotel, used their shower, washroom, swimming pool etc facilities. Floating on the dead sea water was a wonderful experience, and against our normal understanding about physics law, but it did happened and experienced it in person. The temperature was a little bit low, and I felt cold in the water, I think it was around 16 Celsius degree.

Lastly the tour guide was excellent, his name is Asaf Shaked.
