Negotiations workshop – The Israeli way

On 18th Dec. 2019, Wednesday morning, Dr. Hilla Dotan lectured on Negotiations workshop – Israeli way. She talked about the definition of negotiation. Negotiation is a process that communicate back and forth with regard about an issue and interest, and target on a agreement etc.
Focus on interest not position, identify "true" issue and its weight, understand the assumption.
The reservation point, Zopa, zone of potential agreement.

Then we practiced a case between two people by role play, an Israeli negotiating a funding for a software application Start-Up company from a US investor, using the negotiation knowledge learned.

Visit orthodox hub

Visited Ampersand co-working space in the afternoon, they have a nice office. Through the visiting, we had a better understanding about the orthodox Jewish religion group, how do they live their life as a special group in Israel, how do they interact with the secular Israelis, and their effort to participate into Israel economic activities, like try to do something in the high-tech IT industry. I was quite surprised that orthodox religious women had so many children, 5 or more kids for a family is quite ordinary. And men and women need to be segregated in the workplace.

There was dress code for the orthodox hub and culture visit to Bnei Brak: covered shoulders and long pants for men and long pants,/skirts fro women.

In the evening, we had dinner near the hotel, as food was not included.

Leadership and innovation

On 19th Dec. morning D. Orit Wolf lectured on Leadership and innovation, she talked about improvise, disruptive, and response to it. Dream big, do things with passion. EQ, IQ to OQ, i.e. Obsession quality. etc.
