RHEL6 RHCE exam in Singapore

Just passed the RHCE exam of RHEL6 in Singapore, took the exam of EX200 (RHCSA) on 9th Oct. 2014 morning, and EX300 (RHCE) on 24th Oct. 2014 morning, each exam cost me 749 SGD, so I spent 1498 SGD for this certification, quite expensive, I heard back in China the same price will include the training, it’s fine though, as I passed in the first attempt, I sit the exam in RHEL6, as I practiced in this version, and the study material and other learner’s experience in RHEL7 still didn’t come out, it will be better to take 6 for me, you can choose to take RHEL7 if you prefer the newer version, but in China, seems they no longer offer RHEL6 anymore.

The examine information and requirement can be found in this link RHCSA and RHCE.

After submit the exam request on Redhat website, the sales person in Redhat will contact you personally and confirm the exam information you requested, and arrange the payment for the exam by Credit card, after successful payment, you will receive detail information about the next step, to register and arrange your exam schedule on http://www.examslocal.com. The exam in Singapore will take place in Redhat Singapore office, the AXA tower, 10th floor.

As this testing is a Kiosk testing, after approached the reception, you will be lead to a small room, barely 2 square meters, inside the room, the testing kiosk is already setup, you will be alone then, but watched by the webcam, the exam proctor will watch your every move after the exam started, and you can communicate with the proctor through left window by typing your words there, after scanned your IC, cleared the desk, you can start your exam.

The testing machine is RHEL, and you don’t have the root privilege, you need to do all your questions inside the KVM, which is also a RHEL, I would say good practice will give you a good result, you can refer to my previous blog entries. I practiced a lot, but It’s still not so easy for me, I spent the full time to sit in the exam and didn’t get the full mark, for RHCSA I know how I lost my points, but for RHCE I even didn’t know which question I did wrong.

After exam, in 1 or 2 hours, you will receive your exam result and the certification, it’s a digital one.
